Actualité - Iran Rejects UN Resolution

Teheran, Dec 25 (Prensa Latina) - Iran President Mahmud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that the UN Security Council resolution, which sanctions Iran for continuing its enrichment of Uranium, will not have any impact On the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

Ahmadinejad called the UN text political and devised to save the image of the US, which supported it, and Great Britain, the country that drew up the text.

In an address to a Cabinet meeting, the President added that the peaceful nuclear program of his country was determined by the State and has the support of the Iranian people.

The Iranian leader noted that the UN resolution has a poor impact since his country develops its atomic programs and ballistic missiles with its own means.

Analysts agree that the approval of the resolution at the UN central headquarters on Saturday and the possibility that the Islamic country denounces its participation in the Non-Proliferation Treaty put this situation at the brink of a world crisis.
