Actualité - US Hostile Infiltration in Bolivia

La Paz, Jun 24 (Prensa Latina) - Repeated US hostility towards Bolivia's ongoing process of changes, and the allegation that the US infiltrated troops masked as academics have made headlines in the Andean nation this week.

US official Antonio Franco tried to discredit the Bolivian process and ran into strong reaction by President Evo Morales, as reports of the illegal entry of the foreign troops were ratified.

According to state-run Bolivian Information Agency (ABI), the infiltration, which has been going on for months, was revealed by Morales last weekend at a farmer gathering where he publicly demanded an explanation from the US Embassy.

The US Embassy's attempt to deny it ran up against a firm ratification of the allegation by Vice President Alvaro Garcia and ministers of Government and Defense, Alicia Munoz and Walker San Miguel.

According to reports from the intelligence service, 23 US citizens showed up in a training course on internal conflicts which was intended for high ranking officials with decision -making power.

According to the investigation, most of them were actually US soldiers, as it was confirmed in the cases of Sergeants Patric Pelaez and Michael Humire.
