Actualité - Chávez tells Washington He Will Continue Alliance with Cuba
Caracas, Jul 12 (Prensa Latina) - Venezuelan president, Hugo Chávez, told Washington he will maintain his strategic cooperation with Cuba and recommended the US to draw a plan for its own system.
In a high school graduation ceremony, Chavez alluded to the so-called Transition Plan for Cuba, which he described as a new threat to the island as well as to his country.
He said the alledged transition plan not only threatens Cuba but also Venezuela and stated that scheme also strives to discourage any third country from supporting Cuba.
I tell US imperialism from here -he said- that now is when Venezuela will most support the Cuban people and its Revolution. There will be no empire so powerful that thinks it is going to discourage us, he emphasized.
Venezuela´s president accused the US of being an immoral, murderous, genocide empire, ignorant of all basic human rights.
No empire will be able to deter us from going forward with our strategic alliance with Cuba. On the contrary, we feel more encouraged each day, he said.
I tell US imperialism here and now that it may begin to back off and instead of a transition for revolutionary Cuba or Venezuela, to make one for themselves "because this century marks the end for US imperialism".
He also recommended the US leadership to read the works of some thinkers who for many years now have recommended the US to start a strategic withdrawal if they want to save their system inside their own territory.
