Actualité - Israeli Attacks Spread over all Lebanon

Beirut, Jul 23 (Prensa Latina) - Israeli warplanes launched missiles in northern Lebanon early on Sunday, pounding communities and hitting new targets.

Large explosions also shook the Lebanese capital early Sunday, pounding again Hezbollah"s stronghold in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Meanwhile, Tel Aviv"s air strikes hit towns of Sidon in the south of Lebanon and Baalbek in the eastern Bekaa Valley as well as areas along the border with Israel.

According to witnesses, the Israeli fighter jets and helicopters shelled Nabi Sheet, in the hills near Baalbek, wounding at least five people.

The air raids also targeted a factory producing prefab houses near the main highway that links Beirut to the Syrian capital of Damascus, witnesses said.

Early on Sunday, Tel Aviv hit inside the southern city of Sidon for the first time in its campaign, destroying a religious complex linked to Hezbollah and wounding four people.

Two civilians died in early morning air raids that hit villages along the border, witnesses said. A 15-year-old boy was killed at Meis al-Jabal, and a man was killed at Blida.

In 11 days of Israeli fierce aggression of Lebanon, more than 335 Lebanese people, mostly civilians, have been killed by Israeli strikes, and a refugee crisis has been growing.

In a statement to press, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan said the conflict had displaced at least 700,000 Lebanese. ``I"m afraid of a major humanitarian disaster,"" noted Annan
