Actualité - US Has Failed in Mideast, Iran
Teheran, Jun 22 (Prensa Latina) The secretary of the Iranian National Security Council, Ali Lariyani, said on Friday that the US policy in the Levant failed because it played down Iran's role in the region for 28 years.
"Most Muslims back our peaceful nuclear program. We are not alone as Washington says. The West should know that it could not stop us with resolutions," said Lariyani at the 3rd General Assembly of the Imam Followers and Leadership.
"We Iranians do not need the atomic bomb since we have other possibilities. We know that if we had it, the US would put make it available to other countries in the region," said the Iranian official.
"We defend an honourable peace in the Middle East, and we have a full understanding of our interests," stressed Lariyani.
