La Paz, Jul 2 (Prensa Latina) - A new Constituent Assembly of vital importance for being the first one voted by the people and arisen from the demands of the indigenous peoples was born in Bolivia on Sunday.

Those excluded people are also participating in a referendum on departmental autonomies encouraged by the clashes between the government and the social entities with the traditional parties and business sectors.

Once established on August 6, the Constituent Assembly will write a new constitution, the 20th in the history of the Bolivian nation.

The 255 members of the Constituent Assembly will emerge from the people's decision although any of the main applicant parts counts on an assured support guaranteeing the two-third majority needed to approve the new Constitution.

There have been 18 constitutional reforms arisen from constituent assemblies and conventions in Bolivia, although experts estimate the ones achieved in 1825, 1826, 1938 and 1967 stand as the most important.

Now, the triumph of the Movement towards Socialism (MAS) and President Evo Morales in 2005 with their tireless social protests have favored the call for a new Constituent Assembly, demanded during 16 years of social struggle.
