Actualité - Israel Intensifies Lebanon Siege
Beirut, Jul 14 (Prensa Latina) - More than 50 civilians have been killed and an undetermined number wounded, while Israeli Army intensifies the attacks against Lebanon after three days bombing spree.
Tel Aviv´s Friday air strikes targeted the Beirut international airport, the eastern part of the Lebanese capital, the port city of Tiro, in Southern Lebanon, and the Palestinian refugee camp of Rashidiya.
Radio Beirut also reported clashes between the Israeli Army and along the Hezbollah militias in the Israel-Lebanon border. The number of casualties in those clashes is still unknown.
The source noted that the recent Israeli offensive is the heaviest one against neighboring Lebanon since 1982, when Tel Aviv occupied that territory.
On Thursday, at least 47 Lebanese civilians were reported killed and more than one hundred wounded in the last few hours of Israeli air raids.
Israel´s General Staff Chief Dan Halutz warned on Thursday that Tel Aviv´s air force is prepared to strike anywhere in Lebanon.
Israel began its air raids on Lebanon Wednesday with the excuse of releasing soldiers allegedly captured by the Hezbollah militia.
