Actualité - Cuban VP Meets Top Korea Leader

Havana, Sep 19 (Prensa Latina) - Cuban Vice President Raul Castro and Kim Young, President of the Presidium of the PDRK Supreme People"s Assembly, analyzed in this capital the role of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in the current international situation.

They reviewed the recent Havana"s 14th NAM Summit, as well as challenges and tasks faced by the Movement, made up of 118 developing nations.

Other topics included bilateral ties of friendship, cooperation and solidarity, which have historically existed between both peoples and governments, Granma newspaper reports Tuesday.

Kim Yong passed on a personal message by Kim Jong II, General Secretary of the Workers Party, Supreme Commander of Korea Peoples" Army and President of the Korean National Defense Committee, who wished President Fidel Castro a prompt recovery.

The Korean delegation was comprised of Deputy Foreign Minister Choe Su Hom, Ho Yong Bok, director of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, and ambassador to Havana Pak Tong Chun.

Attending for Cuba were Vice President Carlos Lage, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcos Rodriguez and Cuban ambassador to Pyongyang Ruben Perez.
