Beirut, Aug 3 (Prensa Latina) - Israeli warplanes targeted south Lebanon and southern Beirut capital on Thursday, a few hours after Prime Minister Fuad Siniora announced that more than 900 people have been reported killed by Tel Aviv´s deadly offensive.
Red Cross rescue teams were searching for victims in the southern district of the Lebanese capital, housed by Shia Moslems, Palestinian refugees and poor Christians.
The number of dead by Tel Aviv´s Thursday air raids is still unknown, but hospital sources said that it could be high due to the time chosen by Israel to attack.
The total of Israeli air strikes against Beirut capital´s outskirts coincides with a report of Lebanese prime minister quoting more than 900 people killed in nearly 23 days of indiscriminate bombings against his country.
In addition, over 3,243 Lebanese have been wounded by the Israeli bombings, which include phosphorus bombs made in the US, plus more than 913,000 displaced who have found shelter in Palestinian refuges.
