Gaza, Aug 22 (Prensa Latina) - The Israeli army killed three members of the Palestinian resistance and wounded several civilians Tuesday near the Gaza Strip border, and planes and tanks crossed into the eastern zone, several sources reported.

The Islamic Yihad members died next to a wall that divides Israel and the city of Khan Yunis, where soldiers shot them for behaving “suspiciously”, Tsahal (Israeli Army) troops stated.

According to witnesses, the Palestinians were unarmed, only carrying large bags.

Meanwhile, combined Israeli air-land forces pushed into Gaza Strip eastern zone to capture other combatants of Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement, sources from the organization indicated.

The Israeli Cabinet has called for a campaign of sanctions and political and military repression of this organization since it won the January legislative elections giving it control of the Palestine Authority Government.

The war sparked by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert`s government against the Palestinian people has so far left almost 200 dead, dozens wounded and considerable damages to the civilian infrastructure.

According to the Israeli human rights organization Btselem, the increase of violence in these Palestinian autonomous territories is provoked by the death of 109 Tsahal soldiers during combat in Lebanon.
