Actualité - Ecuador to March for Assembly

Quito, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) - Social and political organizations in Ecuador are already preparing a massive march for Tuesday to call for an immediate popular consultation on a Constituent Assembly.

Ciro Guzman, from the MPD (Democratic Popular Movement), called on the population to defend the referendum, which is stuck in Congress.

Apart from the MPD, civil, student, and other social groups will march towards Congress, to pressure it for a plebiscite recognized by the Electoral Supreme Court (TSE).

"This is the moment to take the streets and defend the country and the Constituent Assembly, which will define the way towards a better Ecuador," Guzman highlighted, according to local press.

Similar mobilizations are also expected to take place in cities other than the capital, such as Guayaquil, it was revealed.
